What are your office hours?
The office is open Monday - Friday 9am-3pm.  If you reach our voice mail, please leave a message as it is checked often and calls are returned same or next day. Email is the best way to reach us after hours.

How much does it cost?
Our subscription boxes range in price starting at $11. There is a one time set-up fee of $15 that will be applied to your first billing. Cooler boxes can be purchased for $30 or you may use your own minimum 28 quart cooler. 
What's in each box?
Whatever combination of products you choose!

Is there a minimum order?
Orders must be a minimum of $11.

What products do you deliver?

Beyond organic, sustainably greenhouse-grown, pesticide- & GMO-free varietal lettuces, greens, and herbs. Hydroponic vine ripe tomatoes and cucumbers. Free range local eggs.

What areas do you deliver to?
Currently we deliver to most of South Hampton Roads from Smithfield to the Oceanfront and have started delivering on the Peninsula from Hampton to Williamsburg. If you are unsure if you are in our delivery area, please give us a call or email, or complete a customer profile using the Sign Up button on the homepage and we will contact you asap.

What if I'm not in your delivery area?

If you're not in our delivery area we can deliver to your workplace in our delivery area,  or that of a friend or family member. If neither of these are options, don't fret! Our delivery areas are expanding almost weekly so it's likely we may be delivering to your area soon! To be added to our waiting list, please give us a call. We will contact you as soon as we open your area for delivery.

Where does the produce come from? 
Right here at our greenhouse farm in Suffolk, Virginia. 
What if I want to change my order?
You can change your order as often as you like.  Order changes made before the order window closes 48 hours prior to delivery. The office staff is happy to process your order changes for you when recieved prior to Friday at 11am via phone or anytime by email.  Orders can be changed through our website anytime before your cut off day by logging in with your username and passoword given at sign up. . Please note that order changes include Skip Delivery.  Click on the tab that says "Going On Vacation?" to skip deliveries.

What if I'm not going to be home to receive my delivery? 
It's not necesary to be home to receive your delivery. You can either purchase a cooler box from us for $30 or use your own. Each delivery includes frozen ice packs to keep your greens cool until you arrive home.  Please leave the freezer packs in the cooler so that the driver can take them and replace them with fresh frozen packs on your next delivery.  We are happy to accommodate any special delivery instructions for your box placement, just let us know.

What if I forget to leave my cooler box and ice packs out?
Not a problem! We will deliver your order in an insulated bag with freezer packs. The bags and ice packs are a costly overhead item for us so we ask that you leave them in your box the following week for the driver to collect and our re-use.  A deposit of $5 per bag and/or $5 per icepack will be charged to your account for non-returned bags and ice packs. $4 per item will be credited to you account upon their return to us.

What do I do with the cooler box and ice pack?
The cooler box is weather proof so you can leave it outside all year long! We do suggest you keep it somewhere out of direct sunlight so your greens stay cool.  If you do choose to bring the box inside, please make sure to put it back outside on the day of your delivery.  We send an e-reminder the day before delivery to help ;)

What happens on hot summer days?
Our cooler boxes are heavily insulated.  However for best results, please try to leave your box in shade to help protect your delivery in sunny hot weather months. We deliver your greens with a frozen ice pack each delivery to ensure they stay fresh until you return home.

What should I do with my plastic clamshells?
Reuse or recycle them!  They make great containers for all kinds of things.  Our clamshells are composed of #1 post-consumer recycled plastic.  

What if I live in an apartment, condo, gated community or secure building?
We have many customers who live in these homes and have never had a problem working out a delivery method.  We use insulated bags with ice packs instead of cooler boxes since the delivery is inside. In most instances we are able to leave the bags at your door or hanging on your doorknob. Or, you can provide us with a key or code for entry or we can leave your delivery in the office for you. We ask that wherever the delivery is made for you, that you return the insulated bag and cooler to that location in time for the driver to collect it when he delivers your order each week so that we may re-use the containers. The bags and ice packs are a costly overhead item for us so we ask that you leave them in your box the following week for the driver to collect and our re-use.  A deposit of $5 per bag and/or $5 per icepack will be charged to your account for non-returned bags and icepacks. You will be credited $4 for each item returned. Whatever your situation, please contact us and we'll figure something out. We'll get you your greens!

What do I do if I need to skip a delivery for any reason?
Going on vacation, business trip, whatever?  No problem! Just log in to your account before the order window closes on Sunday at midnight and select "Skip Deliveries." Enter the date range during which you don't want to receive deliveries and save. (Please note, you must set this up prior to the order window closing at midnight Sunday for the delivery you want to skip).

What if I want to cancel?
You're never gonna want to cancel because these greens and lettuces are everything we brag them to be! But in some cases it can't be helped and we don't want any unhappy customers .  You may cancel at any time by calling our office at 757-809-3577 or email us at info@theneighborhoodharvest.com. Please note-cancellations must be made before the order window closes each week.  

When do I get my first delivery?
The date of your first delivery depends on in what area you live and when your customer profile is completed with an order selection. Your first delivery is generally during the first week after you complete your profile, however you can choose to start your delivery at a later date. When you place your order, you will be given a choice of the next three available delivery dates for your area. 

What time will my delivery arrive?
Unfortunately due to the nature of traffic we can't gurantee a delivery time, however we do complete deliveries by 6pm.  Delivery time depends on two things: 1) the length of your route. Some routes have more subscribers than others; and 2) what number you are on the route.  Once you receive your first delivery, your delivery time shouldn't vary greatly each week until the number of new subscribers in your area expands.

What if I refer your service to someone else?
For every person that subscribes and puts your name in the Referred By box on their customer profile,  you will receive a $5 credit to your account! Please remind your friends and family to put your first and last name in the "Referred By" section of the customer profile page so you will receive credit.
